I spent years wasting and spending SO much money on things people recommended to me, that I found online and felt like I needed in order to succeed.
Not anymore.
Here’s what you actually need for your online business
You need a website, a way to take payments, email marketing, minimal designs for social graphics of your choice, podcast hosting if you want that, and a way to film and edit.
Don’t overthink anything else! Let me share what I’m using.
These are my current favorites
I’ll be updating this list as I grow and change, but these are the things I’d currently recommend.
None of these are affiliate links YET. I just don’t want to deal with getting things set up, but I still will recommend these to anyone that’s wanting to start an online business in the way I’ve been sharing through my content.
Stop searching for the PERFECT way to get started, and just decide to start messy.
My Favorite Resources
01. System.io
If you take anything from this list, it’s THIS! I wish they existed years ago, but you could literally build everything on here. They have website, blog, sales funnels, email marketing, taking payments, option to create and house courses, the list goes on and on.
This is my main thing for email marketing and selling my digital products. Well worth the price but they also have a free tier.
02. Namecheap
You want to buy your website URL?
You want to buy MANY website URL’s that come to mind?
You can literally buy your URL from anyone, but I really like this platform, and also the customer support is great!
I also recently just got their private email too at a GREAT price, and it’s super simple to get set up. Also, wasn’t too bad connecting it to systeme.io to send emails too.
03. hostgator
This is what you need to know about blogging. No matter if someone says blogging is dead or not.
If YOU want to blog and eventually put ads on your blog, you’ll need a WordPress website. And that’s where website hosting comes in handy.
Again, you can go with anyone for hosting. Once you get big enough with more traffic, then it will count more. But HostGator was the discounted offer I found and got started with and I’m pretty happy with them! Their customer support is also great.
04. 17th Ave Designs
You can literally build your blog on WordPress for free with a lot of different templates to use.
However, if you have a vibe you want to go with, (and no matter how many people say it doesn’t matter it does to you) find a pretty web design.
17th Ave Design was perfect and what I’m using for this website, as well as my main business website. Did I need it to have this many layers and look like this? No.
But at the time I thought I did. So just be realistic with what you plan for your blog/business and choose a design based on that.
05. rss.com
Everyone has a podcast and you can, again, host it anywhere.
But, if you want a free way of doing it, a way to post once and get it out to every platform you want with a simple way to set it up once and forget it? rss.com
I’ve used this platform before and it’s, in my opinion, the best way to get a podcast started without a lot of overhead. Just a way to record and upload, and this platform will take care of the rest.
06. Canva
Duh, Canva for designs at the cheap.
I’ve been paying for this dang service more than anything else. When other resources would come and go, Canva has stayed with me forever.
I will say, the free tier is ideal for most things that you’re wanting to do. You really don’t need to pay for all the other services, there’s definite ways around it.
But as far as simple professional design without a lot of knowledge? This 100%
07. Capcut
Honestly, if I had a Mac, I’d probably just use the editing software that comes with the thing.
I, however, bought a $150 laptop and CapCut is the only thing that would actually download and work on this thing.
I do minimal editing, just cutting out pauses, so I don’t use the paid tier. Again, any option that works for your computer and your content editing needs.
I can’t speak on the extent you can use it, but simple edits? Yes.
08. Insta360
My original Sony Alpha something vlogging camera from 2015 just doesn’t run well anymore. Fair.
So I got the Insta360 because it records well in low light when I was recording early morning before my boyfriend got up.
It allowed for simple recording at the gym without getting people in the shot or without making a scene.
But really, it’s a great camera that didn’t cost over $500.
I say that because I got the mic that goes with it too.
Is it an investment? Yes.
But if you have a crappy phone and don’t want to upgrade that, this is worth it.
